My First Week at The Studio School

Hello, my name is Annabelle and I went to one of the very first teen programmes which was called bootcamp under Liverpool Girl Geeks back in 2015.

Meet Annabelle!

This was the first time that I had heard of The Studio School and that I believed that I could have a career in tech. At this time in my life I was in the process of choosing my GCSE options. Before I went on the fabulous bootcamp I was going to do french, history, food technology and music. However, after going on the bootcamp I chose geography, computing, triple science, religious studies and food technology. The bootcamp inspired me and made me want to go to The Studio School to study my A-Levels.

On the 5th of September 2018 I found myself on a train to my dream Sixth Form. When I arrived at James Street Station I met some other students who go to The Studio School who are really lovely and they showed me where we wait for our school bus.

The Studio School

After the bus journey, I was greeted by some of the teachers. Then we went up to the Canteen area. They provided us with a wonderful free breakfast to set us up for our busy first day. After our breakfast we met our form groups and form tutors. Then we had to go to the welcome assembly with the headteacher which made me so excited for my journey at The Studio School over the next two years .

We also got to visit the wonderful Baltic Creative and learn about the area that surrounds my new school.

The rest of the day was spent with our form groups, then we got to go to Liverpool One for a selfie challenge. At the end of my first day at The Studio School I was very tired, but I could not wait for the next day.

On Thursday we had more time to get to know the school and our form groups. The whole experience became very real when we got are ID cards and  lanyards.

I could not wait for Friday as this was the day we were to start our lessons. My day started with a study period, where I had time to get myself organised and ready for the next two years which are going to be jam packed! The rest of the day went so fast with all the extremely enjoyable lessons. My first week has made me even more excited for the rest of my time at The Studio School.

I would like to thank Liverpool Girl Geeks and InnovateHer for helping to discover my passion, The Studio School and for being there for all females who want to pursue a career in STEM.
