£66,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 5)
Manchester City Centre (hybrid working)

This role is eligible for Skilled Worker (Tier 2) visa sponsorship

We’re looking for a SAP Basis Lead to join us in Manchester as part of our wider Digital Technology & Data (DT&D) team at Co-op. We’ve transformed our ways of working by implementing SAP across our Food Retail business area; enabling us to plan, buy, and move our products more efficiently. Now we’re continuing the roll-out across other parts of Co-op, and you’ll be responsible for leading the delivery and growth of this. In this role you’ll work in a hybrid way – spending one day per week working from the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

As a SAP Basis Lead at Co-op, you’ll be accountable for the support, performance tuning, repairs, and technical change requests made to our SAP platform. We’ll look to you to use SAP Basis to make sure that all SAP systems run smoothly; helping our business to grow without any risks. This is a great opportunity to take-on a key position in our SAP team, where you’ll be supporting the creation of a great in-house SAP capability, gaining exposure to S/4 HANA, and developing your SAP career.

What you’ll do

  • Support and deliver environment, implementation, and release management activities
  • Lead investigations for any complex technical and integration issues
  • Build and manage positive relationships with third-party support teams
  • Maintain SAP Solution Manager ALM functions, such as ChaRM, BPCA, Technical Monitoring, Solution Documentation etc.
  • Own, develop, and implement the platform strategy for BASIS, including capacity management and continuous improvements
  • Manage the performance of third-party technical teams for your area
  • Proactively champion technical strategy for your area; making sure this aligns with our wider DT&D team strategy

This role would suit people who have

  • Significant experience working with SAP Basis
  • An excellent understanding of SAP products (e.g. S/4 HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, SCM, CAR, PI/PO, SLT, Flori, SNC, Solution Manager, BPA Redwood etc)
  • Experience managing the performance of third-party suppliers/teams
  • Experience working ‘cross platform’ to lead technical performance-related investigations and resolutions

We know that some candidates are less likely to apply for a role if they don’t meet all the criteria in the job description. At Co-op, we’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive working environment, so if you’d like to apply for this role but your experience doesn’t quite meet every point, we’d still encourage you to apply. You may be just the right candidate for the job or other roles we have available.

Why Co-op?

As a Co-op colleague, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services). You’ll also get:

  • Private healthcare
  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • Coaching and training to support your career development
  • Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
