Data Governance Analyst

£35,200 plus great benefits (Work Level 6A)
Manchester city centre (hybrid working)

We’re looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join us in Manchester to help make sure we have the right policies and processes in place throughout our data lifecycle. Over the last 18-months we’ve joined together with the Data Enablement team, and our mission is to power our Co-op difference through data and enable the wider business to make informed, data-driven decisions.

As a Data Governance Analyst at Co-op, we’ll look to you to implement and deliver the data governance strategy and policies across the wider business. In this role you’ll work in a hybrid way – splitting your time between home and the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

What you’ll do

  • Provide data governance expertise to help improve data governance maturity across Co-op
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues on key projects to ensure we have the right governance in place
  • Work closely with a data ownership network to identify training needs and support them with any data issues
  • Facilitate necessary forums and working groups within the operating model
  • Support our Data Governance Managers in building strong collaborative relationships with the business
  • Contribute to Co-op-wide Data Governance strategy, policies and standards
  • Help to drive cultural change across Co-op in relation to data governance (e.g. data governance artefacts, operating procedures etc)
  • Make sure we’re using our data ethically in line with our Co-op Values

This role would suit people who have

  • Experience applying effective data governance across multiple teams in an agile environment
  • Experience working in a regulated environment or data-centred organisation
  • Experience building reports and presentations, and a good understanding of data policy
  • Great Microsoft Office skills (including Teams, SharePoint etc)
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge people inclusively

Why Co-op?

If you’ve got the skills and experience we’re looking for, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services). You’ll also get:

  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • Coaching and training to support your career development
  • Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • YuLife – an app that rewards you for exercising with discounts and vouchers for your favourite brands
