Apadmi is on a journey to become the world’s leading mobile & digital transformation agency. To help us get there, we’re seeking an Engineering Manager to join our dedicated team in engineering management. The role involves ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, innovative products that yield successful results for our clients.

What a typical week might look like

Create a thriving community within the team through knowledge sharing initiatives such as brown bag sessions, one-to-one coaching, and collaboration through pairing and mentoring.

Support team members to ensure they have the necessary guidance and resources to deliver projects at a high standard and advance in their careers.

Engage with various project stages, from discussing technical requirements with prospective clients to assisting teams in release planning for projects nearing initial deployment.

Operate in a supporting, coaching, and facilitative role, helping teams solve their own problems while occasionally taking a hands-on approach for critical issues.

Collaborate with fellow Engineering Managers to review upcoming projects, make long-term plans for department structure, and assess skills needed for project support.

Stay informed about industry changes and tooling demands, evaluating new technologies and suggesting improvements to development pipelines.

Participate in planning educational opportunities for teams, including documentation on Confluence and technical training workshops

Embrace challenges and actively support teams in overcoming complex problems to successfully deliver projects for clients.

Who you’ll be helping

Our People

Line-managing a squad of software engineers, supporting them to develop their careers and coaching them to enhance their skills and deliver results.

Understanding the skill gaps within our squads and actively contributing to hiring and onboarding engineers to fill those gaps.

Supporting our Learning and Development team in curating and delivering content to the engineering squads and beyond.

Our Projects

Every project is unique and you’ll be identifying where you can provide support to both our projects and the teams responsible for delivering them, setting them up for long term success. This may include;

Supporting the sales process, both early client engagement and ongoing project estimation.

Providing consultation to our teams or clients on overarching solutions, technical delivery or implementation details by drawing from other subject matter experts.

Understanding the needs of a project and client, your engineer’s preferences and goals and owning the team balance when assigning people to a project.

Helping in the delivery of a project through strong technical leadership and hands on development.

Our Processes

Keeping up to date with industry and technology developments and understanding how these impact the delivery of our projects and the development of our engineers.

Shaping our development practices through engineering reviews, knowledge-sharing and the introduction of new tooling.

Being a key point of contact for all departments to ensure the wider business understands Engineering’s processes and your team understands theirs.

You’ll be great for this if

You have experience in managing a multi-disciplined software engineering team.

You have a proven ability to coach, motivate and performance manage your team to deliver impactful results.

You value developing and nurturing talent on your team.

You have delivered multiple projects end-to-end, from project inception to deployment and beyond.

You are skilled in stakeholder management, both internal and client-side, and understand the value in keeping wider stakeholders aligned.

You are delivery orientated. You understand technology is there to serve business needs, which involves the balance of cost, scope, time and quality.
