UX/UI Designer

The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior UI skills and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artefacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces.

You’ll also be an analytical and creative designer who is able to grasp user needs and solve problems. You’ll also have a portfolio of professional design projects that includes work with web/mobile applications. Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ needs and help us grow our customer base.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with the Head of Design, product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to development teams
  • Conceptualise original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Present designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
  • Help conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Assist with asset requirements from the development team
  • Mentor junior members of the design team

What we’re looking for

  • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role, with demonstrable UI design skills and a strong portfolio
  • Experience in creating wireframes, storyboards & user flows
  • Proficiency in Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite and wireframing software and InVision, Marvel or rapid prototyping tools
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user interaction, and ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process, and up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
  • A degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human Interaction Design or similar
  • A willingness and proven ability to take responsibility and be there when it counts
  • Ability to learn, adapt, innovate, anticipate and look into the future
  • A passionate interest in something relevant (e.g. technology, subject matter, business itself)
  • Common sense, be analytical, self-reflective, creative, responsible and open minded, kindness, with excellent verbal and written English
  • Being a Designer is demanding and requires experience and capability combined robust character, clarity of thinking, problem-solving, resilience and ability to learn quickly
