Principal Quality Engineer

Salary: £40,748

 

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing Quality Early Careers programs and overseeing Workforce Planning.

Early Careers:

  • Managing and evolving our Quality Early Careers programmes 
  • Support the engagement, attraction, recruitment and selection of those joining our Early Careers programmes to secure the best diverse talent, this includes supporting social value activities and graduate campaigns
  • Act as the central point of contact for, and maintain regular contact with, all those on our Early Careers programmes, particularly our apprentices, to ensure health, well-being and safety
  • Act as a safeguarding lead and point of escalation for all safeguarding matters

Workforce planning:

  • Use data, intelligence and analytics to identify fragility within the organisation in relation to skills loss and key role succession
  • Produce demand forecasts for the Quality organisation

 

Your skills and experiences: 

Essential:

  • Self-starter, able to work with limited supervision
  • Good collaboration skills – able to build and maintain good relationships at all levels and effectively communicate with others to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Effective organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Good coaching skills (teaching experience preferred)

Desirable: 

  • Commercially aware
  • Delivery focused
  • Planned and methodical

The Quality, People and Capability team: 

This role is part of the Quality Function that looks after all People Capability and Workforce Planning. You will collaborate closely with Early Careers and all apprentices within the Quality Function, reporting directly to the Senior Quality Manager. Your focus will be on developing forward-thinking strategies to ensure a positive future workforce. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
